The American Bulldog

The American BulldogThe American Bulldog was nearly extinct after World War II, but they were rescued by a man named John D. Johnson. At first these dogs for the sport of bull baiting were used, and it was also popular with farmers because of their intelligence. This breed has very good working abilities, stamina, and also a very sympathetic character. These dogs were also very good hunters, and are used to hunt wild boar, bears and raccoons.

This dog is an animal as a loving family who will learn to get along with children and other animals. The American Bulldog is a very determined dog who does not think twice before attacking predators or threats to their owners. This breed is fearless, confident and very agile. These dogs have a very strong protective instinct and should be well socialized from an early age. Some American Bulldogs can be aggressive toward other dogs and even a little suspicious of people who do not know. These dogs thrive when accompanied by their families.
